The Teraflex Heavy Duty Tie Rod Assembly is specifically designed to withstand extreme conditions that often lead to the failure of factory steering components. Constructed from 4140 heat treated chromoly, this tie rod boasts an outside diameter of 1.6 inches and is over 200 percent stronger than standard factory tie rods. Its robust design ensures enhanced performance and reliability in demanding environments.
This assembly features a forged tie rod end housing tailored for Jeep JK models, providing adequate clearance for factory 17 inch wheels. The tie rod end joint incorporates advanced features similar to those found in high-performance ball joints, including a durable 4140 chrome moly ball and stud, along with a 1045 carbon steel housing. The adjustable preload tension allows for long-term durability, making it a reliable choice for off-road enthusiasts.
The joint is securely pressed into the rod end housing and held in place with a snap ring, ensuring stability during operation. With a total of 14 degrees of movement when configured as a tie rod, it minimizes roll while maximizing turning capability. Additionally, the fully forged drag link reduces excess movement during aggressive steering maneuvers, and the factory-style adjusting collar and pinch clamp facilitate straightforward adjustments.
