The Teraflex Heavy Duty Steering Upgrade Kit is engineered for extreme conditions that often lead to the failure of factory steering components. This kit features a 1.6 Inch O.D. 4140 heat treated chromoly tie rod, which is over 200 percent stronger than the original factory tie rod, ensuring enhanced durability and performance. Designed specifically for Jeep JK models, it allows for proper clearance when using factory 17 Inch wheels, making it a practical choice for off-road enthusiasts.
The tie rod end joint incorporates advanced features similar to those found in high-quality ball joints, including a 4140 chrome moly ball and stud, along with a 1045 carbon steel housing. This design includes adjustable preload tension, which contributes to long-term reliability. The joint is securely pressed into the rod end housing and held in place with a snap ring, providing a robust connection.
In addition to the tie rod, the kit includes a fully forged HD drag link that minimizes excess movement during aggressive steering maneuvers. It features an oversized DOM factory style adjusting collar and pinch clamp, allowing for straightforward adjustments. The drag link also utilizes the same high-quality rod end housing joints as the tie rod, ensuring consistent performance across the steering system.
