The TeraFlex HD tie rod assembly is specifically engineered to withstand extreme conditions that often lead to the failure of factory steering components. Constructed from 4140 heat treated chromoly, this tie rod boasts a robust 1.6 inch outer diameter and is over 200 percent stronger than standard factory tie rods. Its design includes a forged tie rod end housing tailored for Jeep JK models, ensuring compatibility with factory 17 inch wheels while maintaining proper clearance.
Incorporating advanced features similar to those found in high-performance ball joints, the tie rod end joint utilizes a 4140 chrome moly ball and stud, along with a durable 1045 carbon steel housing. The adjustable preload tension allows for long-term durability, making it a reliable choice for off-road enthusiasts. The joint is securely pressed into the rod end housing and held in place with a snap ring, providing stability during operation.
The tie rod configuration allows for a total of 14 degrees of movement, minimizing tie rod roll while maximizing turning capabilities. Additionally, the fully forged drag link is designed to reduce excess movement during aggressive steering maneuvers, featuring a factory-style adjusting collar and pinch clamp for straightforward adjustments. This assembly is both greasable and rebuildable, ensuring longevity and performance in demanding environments.
