The Suburban Automatic Changeover Propane Regulator is designed to provide a reliable and continuous gas supply to appliances by automatically switching from an empty service cylinder to a full reserve cylinder. This regulator features a highly visible full/empty indicator that allows users to easily monitor gas levels without removing the propane tank cover. The adjustable pressure setting and high temperature resistant diaphragm enhance its functionality, making it suitable for various applications, including RV use.
Safety is a key aspect of the Suburban regulator, which includes a built-in back check valve that permits the removal of an empty cylinder while maintaining operation from the reserve cylinder. Additionally, the Excess Flow Device protects against gas flow issues in the event of hose rupture or disconnection, while the Overpressure Protection Device limits propane release to ensure compliance with safety standards. With a capacity of 160,000 BTU per hour, this single-stage regulator is efficient and effective for low-pressure applications.
Installation is straightforward, thanks to the pre-assembled mounting bracket and the included plastic vent cover required by RVIA. The inlet connection is a 1/4 inch inverted flare, and the outlet connection is a 3/8 inch female pipe thread, making it compatible with various setups.
