The Rancho Shock Absorber RS5000X features a patented rebound valving system that significantly improves vehicle handling both on and off-road. This shock absorber is designed with a tuned compression control valve, allowing for optimal shock motion that works in harmony with the vehicle's dynamics. The enlarged 2-1/4 inch twin tube body increases fluid capacity, which helps maintain cooler operation and enhances overall performance across various terrains and speeds.

Gas pressurization minimizes the risk of air-to-oil mixture, reducing foaming and shock fade, while providing a slight boost in spring rate. The 16 millimeter nitro-carburized rod enhances durability by increasing scuffing resistance and protecting against corrosion. Additionally, the full-displaced 35 millimeter bore and 1-3/8 inch diameter sintered iron piston contribute to improved control and structural integrity, ensuring a reliable performance.

The Rancho RS5000X also includes a rebound bumper that reduces wear during driving, and a glass-filled, Fluon banded piston for smoother travel and responsiveness to changing road conditions.
