The Rancho Shock Absorber RS5000X features a patented rebound valving system that significantly improves vehicle handling both on and off-road. This shock absorber is designed with a tuned compression control valve that harmonizes the shock's motion with the vehicle's dynamics, ensuring stability and control across various terrains. The enlarged 2-1/4 inch twin tube body increases fluid capacity, allowing for cooler operation and enhanced performance at different speeds.

Gas pressurization minimizes air-to-oil mixture, reducing the risk of foaming and shock fade, while providing a slight boost in spring rate. The 16 millimeter nitro-carburized rod enhances durability by increasing scuff resistance and protecting against corrosion. Additionally, the full-displaced 35 millimeter bore and 1-3/8 inch diameter sintered iron piston contribute to improved shock motion control and structural integrity.

The RS5000X also includes a rebound bumper that minimizes wear during driving, and a glass-filled, Fluon banded piston for smoother travel and responsiveness to changing road conditions. This shock absorber is a single unit, designed for semi-universal application, and is equipped with shock boots for added protection.
