The Pertronix Electronic Ignition Conversion is designed to replace traditional breaker points and factory electronic ignitions in 8 cylinder engines. This system is compatible with Mallory Non Vacuum Advance 25 Series, 26 Series, YD Series, and YL Series distributors, excluding specific distributor numbers. It operates on a 12 Volt negative ground and is engineered for reliability and efficiency.
This ignition conversion offers a significant improvement in performance by delivering twice the voltage to the spark plugs, which enhances horsepower, fuel economy, and extends spark plug life. The innovative design features rotating cobalt magnets that trigger a Hall Effect integrated circuit, eliminating the need for points that can burn out or wear over time. The epoxy molding ensures that the module is resistant to dirt, oil, grease, and moisture, providing stable timing without the need for adjustments.
Installation is straightforward, making it a practical choice for various applications, from race cars to tractors. The compact design of the Ignitor allows for a clean engine compartment without the clutter of additional components. For optimal results, it is recommended to pair the Ignitor with Flame-Thrower 40,000 Volt coils, which further enhances ignition performance.
