The Pertronix Electronic Ignition Conversion is designed to enhance the performance of Autolite and Prestolite distributors with clockwise timing. This system replaces traditional breaker points and factory electronic ignitions, providing a self-contained and maintenance-free solution. With over thirty years of proven reliability, the Ignitor is suitable for a wide range of applications, from race cars to agricultural machinery.
This ignition system is often referred to as the 'stealth' ignition due to its quick installation and discreet presence beneath the distributor cap. It eliminates the clutter of additional components in the engine compartment, ensuring a clean and efficient setup. The Ignitor delivers twice the voltage to the spark plugs, resulting in improved horsepower, fuel economy, and extended spark plug life.
Featuring a robust design, the Ignitor utilizes rotating cobalt magnets to trigger a Hall Effect integrated circuit, eliminating the need for points that can burn out or wear over time. The epoxy molding protects the module from dirt, oil, grease, and moisture, ensuring stable timing without the need for adjustments. This system is also compatible with most multi-spark CD ignitions and is available for 6-volt negative ground systems.
