The Pertronix Electronic Ignition Conversion is designed to replace traditional breaker points and factory electronic ignitions with a modern, maintenance-free solution. This system has been utilized in various applications, from race cars to agricultural machinery, demonstrating its versatility and reliability. The Ignitor is known for its stealthy installation, fitting discreetly under the distributor cap without adding clutter to the engine compartment.
This ignition system delivers twice the voltage to the spark plugs, which can lead to increased horsepower, improved fuel economy, and extended spark plug life. The innovative design features rotating cobalt magnets that trigger a Hall Effect integrated circuit, eliminating the need for points that can burn out or wear over time. Additionally, the epoxy molding of the ignition control module ensures protection against dirt, oil, grease, and moisture, enhancing durability and performance.
With stable timing and no need for adjustments, the Pertronix Ignitor is compatible with most multi-spark CD ignitions and is available for both 6 and 12-volt negative and positive ground systems. For optimal performance, it is recommended to pair the Ignitor with Pertronix Flame-Thrower 40,000 Volt coils.
