Voltage protection for sensitive electronics during engine start.

The NewMar Power Management System is designed to provide essential voltage protection during engine start, ensuring that sensitive electronics remain operational. This system is particularly beneficial for microprocessor-based voice and data transmitters, which can lose programmed memory due to abrupt voltage drops. By utilizing a sealed rechargeable battery, the StartGuard activates when the starter switch is engaged, supplying supplemental voltage to critical devices.

With a DC input range of 13.8 to 14.8 volts and a maximum output of 20 amperes, the StartGuard can deliver back-up power of 20 amperes for one minute or 18 amperes for two minutes. This capability is crucial for maintaining functionality during the engine cranking process. Once the engine is running, the system automatically disconnects, allowing the internal battery to recharge via the alternator.

The compact design of the StartGuard measures 4.9 inches in width, 8-1/4 inches in depth, and 3-1/2 inches in height, making it suitable for various applications. Additionally, it is certified by DOT and IATA for safe air shipment, ensuring compliance with transportation regulations.
