The MSD Ignition Ready-To-Run Distributor is designed for Buick 400, 430, and 455 cubic inch engines, providing a streamlined ignition solution that replaces bulky DuraSpark systems and outdated breaker point models. This distributor is engineered for simplicity, requiring only three wire connections for installation, making it accessible for various users. It features a powerful built-in ignition module that generates a strong inductive spark, enhancing fuel combustion for improved engine performance, quick starts, and smooth idling.
Constructed with a CNC machined billet aluminum housing, this distributor is 5/8 inch smaller in diameter, allowing it to fit in tight engine compartments and accommodate induction setups. The maintenance-free magnetic pickup ensures reliable triggering of high voltage sparks, while the sealed ball bearing supports an oversized shaft for stability. The mechanical advance assembly is adjustable with supplied springs and stop bushings, enabling users to customize the ignition curve to their specific needs.
Additionally, the vacuum advance canister contributes to fuel economy during extended drives, and it can be locked out if desired. The polished steel shaft is QPQ coated, and the advance plate and weights are made from chrome moly steel, reducing friction for optimal performance. This distributor is CARB EO approved, ensuring compliance with emissions regulations.
