The MSD Ignition Pro-Billet Distributor is engineered for use with Chevy late model and modified racing engines, providing a compact solution for applications with space constraints. This distributor is 1/2 inch narrower and over 1 inch shorter than standard models, making it suitable for installations where firewall interference or oversized intake manifolds are present. It features a high output magnetic pick-up and a precision machined reluctor, ensuring accurate ignition triggering across a wide RPM range.
Constructed from CNC machined billet aluminum, the distributor includes an adjustable mechanical advance that allows users to customize the advance curve to meet specific performance needs. The design incorporates an oil tract that enhances lubrication to the distributor and cam gear, while O-ring seals can be added to modified blocks to improve oil pressure control. The maintenance-free magnetic pickup and precision reluctor provide stable trigger signals, contributing to reliable engine performance.
Additional features include a slip collar mounting flange for modified deck heights, fine-blanked chrome moly steel advance plate and weights for reduced friction, and nylon pads for smooth operation of the advance weights. This distributor can also be configured for crank trigger systems by locking out the mechanical advance assembly, making it a versatile choice for both street and racing applications.
