The MSD Ignition Pro-Billet Distributor is engineered specifically for Chevy V8 engines, catering to those with space constraints due to firewall interference or oversized intake manifolds. This distributor features a compact design that is 3/8 inch narrower and nearly 1 inch shorter than standard models, making it suitable for tight engine compartments. It incorporates a high output magnetic pickup and a precision machined reluctor, ensuring accurate ignition triggering across the RPM range.
This distributor is equipped with a fully adjustable mechanical advance system, allowing users to customize the advance curve to meet their specific performance needs. The polished steel shaft is QPQ coated and supported by a sealed ball bearing, while the advance plate and weights are crafted from chrome moly steel for reduced friction. Additionally, the mechanical advance assembly can be locked out for use with crank trigger systems, providing versatility for various applications.
The small diameter cap, made from durable Rynite material, enhances the overall design and includes an optional wire retainer for added convenience. Special oil tracts improve lubrication to the distributor and cam gear, and O-ring seals can be added to modified blocks to enhance oil pressure control. This distributor is a reliable choice for both street and strip applications.
