Designed for Chevy V8 Engines with Limited Space and Enhanced Performance
The MSD Ignition Crab Cap Distributor is engineered specifically for racing applications, particularly for Chevy V8 engines with super tall blocks. Its low profile crab style cap allows for installation in tight spaces, making it suitable for setups with tunnel rams or blowers. The distributor features a robust CNC machined billet aluminum housing and a DuPont Rynite base, ensuring durability and reliability under high-performance conditions.
This distributor is equipped with an adjustable slip collar, accommodating engines with modified deck heights. The oversized polished steel shaft, treated with a QPQ coating, minimizes friction and enhances performance. Additionally, the design includes a sealed ball bearing and a long sintered bushing for optimal shaft guidance, contributing to the overall efficiency of the ignition system.
To improve lubrication, a special oil tract is integrated, which sprays oil on the distributor and camshaft gears, reducing wear. Optional O-ring seals can be added to modified blocks to maintain oil pressure control. The included red crab style cap features spark plug style terminals for secure connections to the plug wires, ensuring reliable spark distribution for racing applications.
