The MSD Ignition 6 BTM Control Module is designed for high-performance engines equipped with turbochargers or superchargers. This module provides multiple spark discharge capabilities, ensuring optimal ignition under various conditions. With an adjustable boost/timing retard circuit, it effectively prevents detonation by allowing precise timing adjustments in relation to boost pressure, enhancing engine reliability and performance.
Featuring a user-friendly dash-mounted control knob, the 6 BTM allows for timing retard adjustments from 0 to 3 degrees per pound of boost, accommodating up to 15 degrees. This flexibility is crucial for managing increased cylinder pressure that can occur with forced induction systems. Additionally, the built-in soft touch rev control offers over-rev protection, making it suitable for both street and drag racing applications.
The module operates on a 12 to 18 volt electrical system and is compatible with various trigger inputs, including breaker points and magnetic pickups. It is programmable for 4, 6, or 8 cylinder configurations, ensuring versatility across different engine setups. The 6 BTM is supplied with rubber shock mounts and RPM modules for 3000, 6000, 7000, and 8000 RPM, making it a comprehensive solution for performance enthusiasts.
