The McMurdo Automatic Identification System Receiver is a compact and cost-effective solution for recreational and non-mandate vessels. This dual channel receiver is designed to integrate seamlessly with chartplotters, PCs, or Macs, providing real-time information on the status and position of nearby AIS-equipped vessels. It supports all AIS message types, including Class A, Class B, AIS SART, AIS MOB, and base station transmissions, ensuring comprehensive situational awareness on the water.
With dimensions of only 128 x 88 x 36 mm, the McMurdo M15S is easy to install and set up, making it suitable for various marine environments. The device features both NMEA 0183 and USB interfaces, allowing for straightforward connectivity to existing navigation systems. Additionally, the built-in VHF antenna splitter enhances its functionality by enabling shared antenna use with a user's VHF radio, simplifying installation and reducing costs.
The M15S can be powered externally or via USB, offering flexibility in power options. It comes with PC AIS Viewer software for display and configuration, ensuring users can easily monitor and manage AIS data.
