The Marshall Excelsior Propane Hose Connector is engineered for secure and efficient propane transfer. Featuring a 1-5/16 inch female ACME connection and a 1/4 inch MNPT, this connector is designed to handle up to 200000 BTU and 100 SCFH of air. The built-in excess flow feature ensures that gas will not flow until the connector is fully engaged, enhancing safety during use.
In the event of a fire, the connector's thermal protection mechanism activates, melting to disengage the nipple from the tank and halting propane flow. This critical safety feature is complemented by a positive back check seal that prevents propane from escaping into the atmosphere during disconnection. The Type I (QCC) thread is compatible with 40-pound or less DOT propane cylinders, making it a versatile choice for various applications.
Installation is straightforward; simply close the cylinder valve and appliance control valves, hand tighten the connector, and slowly open the cylinder valve. This method minimizes the risk of activating the excess flow device, ensuring a smooth operation.
