The built-in excess flow feature ensures that gas will not flow until the connector is fully engaged, enhancing safety during use.

In the event of a fire, the connector's thermal protection mechanism activates, allowing the nipple to disengage from the tank and halting propane flow. This feature is crucial for preventing hazardous situations. Additionally, the positive back check seal at disconnect prevents propane from escaping into the atmosphere, further ensuring safety.

The Type I (QCC) connector replaces the POL connection on 40-pound or less DOT propane cylinders, making it a versatile choice for various applications.
