The Maretron Network Bus Extender (NBE100) is designed to enhance the functionality of NMEA 2000 networks by allowing for an increased number of nodes, extended trunk lengths, and cumulative drop lengths. This device effectively addresses bus errors and electrical issues that arise when network specifications are exceeded, facilitating the design of larger networks. By connecting the NBE100, users can split a single network into two electrical segments, each supporting up to 50 nodes, thereby enabling a total of 100 nodes on the logical network.
The NBE100 operates within a voltage range of 9 to 32 volts DC and features a compact design with dimensions of 3.46 inches in length, 3.11 inches in depth, and 1.38 inches in height. It is built to withstand harsh marine environments with an IP67 waterproof rating and operates effectively in temperatures ranging from -25 to 55 degrees Celsius. Additionally, the device includes reverse battery protection and load dump protection, ensuring reliable performance.
