The K&N NextGen cold air intake system is designed to optimize engine performance by significantly increasing airflow. Constructed from high-density polyethylene, the rotationally molded tube enhances airflow by 24.6 percent on the driver side and 33.25 percent on the passenger side, resulting in an increase of 27.20 horsepower and 40.29 torque without the need for tuning. This system features a washable and reusable High-Flow LIFETIME Air Filter made from oiled cotton filter media, allowing for up to 100,000 miles of use under normal driving conditions.
The NextGen airbox is engineered to protect intake air from high engine bay temperatures while improving airflow with its semi-enclosed design and enlarged fresh air inlet. The oversized air filter is designed with increased surface area and a radius-entry design to further enhance performance. Additionally, the large-diameter intake tube is CAD-designed with strategically positioned air channels to boost airspeed and deliver more air to the engine.
Precision engineering ensures that each NextGen intake is tailored for specific vehicle models, enhancing both performance and the aesthetic of the engine bay. The installation process is simplified with reduced mounting hardware and Quick-Lock technology, allowing for easy filter placement and secure attachment with just one hose clamp.
