The K&N high-flow performance air intake system is engineered to optimize air induction for select Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500 models. This system features a mandrel-bent aluminum tube that replaces the restrictive factory air filter and housing, significantly reducing airflow restriction. By smoothing and straightening the airflow, this intake allows the engine to draw in a larger volume of air, resulting in increased power and acceleration across the RPM range.
Included with the intake system is a chrome-topped K&N high-flow air filter and a heat shield that fits into the original air box space. The design directs air through the intake tube into the engine's throttle body, ensuring a measurable power gain. The durable chrome-like finish of the intake tube is built to withstand the rigors of engine operation while accommodating the factory mass air sensor and crank case vent hose.
The oversized cone-shaped air filter is washable and reusable, providing up to 100,000 miles of service before maintenance is required, depending on driving conditions. Installation is straightforward, typically completed in 90 minutes or less using existing factory mounting points and common tools.
