The K&N high-flow performance air intake system is engineered to optimize air induction for specific RAM 1500 Pickup models. This system features a free-flowing, mandrel-bent aluminum tube that replaces the restrictive factory air filter and housing, significantly reducing airflow restriction. By smoothing and straightening the airflow, this intake allows the engine to draw in a larger volume of air, resulting in increased power and acceleration across the RPM range.
In addition to boosting horsepower, this air intake system enhances engine acoustics, providing a more aggressive sound during acceleration. The polished aluminum tube is designed for durability and includes provisions for the factory air temperature sensor and crankcase vent hose. The oversized cone-shaped air filter is washable and reusable, offering up to 100,000 miles of service before maintenance is required, depending on driving conditions.
Installation is straightforward, typically completed in 90 minutes or less using existing factory mounting points. It is important to note that some K&N 77 series air intakes may not be legal for sale or use in California and other states with similar emission standards, while others are CARB exempt and legal in all 50 states.
