The K&N AirCharger cold air intake system is engineered to replace the restrictive factory air filter and intake housing in select Ford Fusion models. This system is designed to significantly reduce air intake restriction, allowing for smoother and straighter airflow into the engine. By facilitating a larger volume of air intake, it contributes to increased power and acceleration across the engine's RPM range.
This air intake system features a chrome-topped K&N high-flow air filter and a heat shield that fits into the original air box space. The aerodynamically designed intake tube directs air efficiently into the turbo inlet, ensuring a guaranteed power gain. The system accommodates factory emissions control devices, including the inlet air temperature sensor and EVAP vent line, maintaining compliance with vehicle standards.
The oversized cone-shaped air filter is designed for longevity, capable of lasting up to 100,000 miles before servicing is required, depending on driving conditions. Installation is straightforward, typically completed in 90 minutes or less using existing factory mounting points and basic tools. Note that this air intake system is not legal for sale or use in California or states with similar emission regulations.
