The K&N AirCharger cold air intake system is engineered to replace the restrictive factory air filter and intake housing in select Yamaha YXR660 Rhino models. This system is designed to significantly reduce intake restriction, allowing for smoother and straighter airflow. By facilitating a larger volume of air intake, it contributes to increased power and acceleration across the engine's RPM range.
Featuring a K&N XStream Top air filter, this intake system is built for enhanced airflow and durability. The air is channeled through a black powder coated aluminum intake tube, ensuring a reliable power gain as it moves into the engine's throttle body. The design accommodates the factory side vent hose and includes a small air filter for the crank case vent hose, optimizing the overall performance.
The oversized, inverted cone-shaped air filter is protected by a water repellent DryCharger filter wrap, safeguarding it from moisture. Installation is straightforward, typically completed in 90 minutes or less using existing factory mounting points and basic tools such as a screwdriver and ratchet set. This system not only improves throttle response but also enhances the engine sound, making it a valuable addition for performance enthusiasts.
