The Ford Performance Drive Shaft features a direct bolt-in spline and slip design, measuring 51.653 inches in overall length. Constructed from 6061-T6 aluminum tubing with a wall thickness of 1.25 inches, this drive shaft is engineered for increased horsepower applications, delivering peak endurance and optimum strength. The fully assembled and balanced unit includes 1350 series Dana solid body joints and flange yokes for secure connections to the transmission and rear end.
This drive shaft is designed to eliminate the need for a center support bearing, reducing overall weight and rotating mass, which contributes to improved driving performance and quicker acceleration. A hard plastic boot is included to keep grease in and water out, protecting the spline and slip from contaminants. The spline and slip design allows for easy installation and accommodates suspension movement, making it a practical choice for off-road use only.
