The BD Diesel Torque Converter Lock-Up Control provides users with the ability to manage the locking and unlocking of the torque converter, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency. This system allows for manual engagement of the lock-up clutch, which helps maintain lower transmission temperatures and maximizes the effectiveness of the exhaust brake during operation. The TorqLoc features a toggle switch that enables users to select between locked and unlocked states, catering to various driving conditions such as highway travel or urban environments.
In addition to its manual control capabilities, the TorqLoc includes an overdrive inverter option that prevents the transmission from shifting into overdrive, making it suitable for city driving where frequent stops and starts are common. For those equipped with a BD valve body that supports second gear lock-up, the system can be configured to hold lock-up until reaching speeds of 5 to 10 miles per hour. This versatility enhances the driving experience by providing tailored control over the vehicle's transmission performance.
