The Balmar Alternator Surge Protector is designed to safeguard alternators from damaging voltage spikes that can occur due to lithium battery shutdowns and intermittent connections. This device effectively clamps voltage spikes up to 60 Volt and addresses sustained over-voltage conditions starting around 20 Volt, ensuring the longevity and reliability of your alternator. With the capability to absorb surges exceeding 200 Amps, the Alternator Protection Module (APM) provides continuous protection without failure.
In addition to its protective features, the Balmar APM includes visual and audible alarms that alert users if the device has been compromised and requires replacement. This intelligent, solid-state protection is compact and can be easily mounted at the rear of the alternator between the B+ and B- terminals.
