The ARB Emu Dakar leaf spring is a critical component of ARB's integrated 4x4 suspension systems, designed to enhance ride performance across various operating conditions. This leaf spring features a two-stage leaf pack, which provides optimal comfort by allowing the vehicle to ride primarily on the primary stage when unladen, while the secondary stage offers additional support when needed. The draw tapered and diamond cut leaves ensure that the load is distributed over a larger surface area, significantly improving ride quality and reducing stress at the leaf ends.
Each leaf spring is fully scragged and load tested, ensuring that it takes a permanent set to minimize the risk of sagging over time. The military wrap design enhances safety, while shot peening on the tension side of all leaves can effectively double the lifespan of the spring. Additionally, anti-friction pads made from regreasable nylon interleaf liners reduce friction at the leaf tips, where the load is greatest, further contributing to the longevity and performance of the spring.
The flat axle seat area allows for a secure axle mount, reducing spring stress and increasing overall spring life. With bolt clamps and liners that facilitate the installation of anti-squeak nylon liners, the ARB Emu Dakar leaf spring is a robust solution for both recreational and commercial vehicle applications.
