The ARB Emu Dakar leaf spring is a critical component of ARB's integrated 4x4 suspension systems, designed to enhance ride performance across various operating conditions. This single leaf spring features a 4 + 3 leaf configuration, providing a robust solution for both recreational and commercial vehicle applications. The draw tapered and diamond cut leaves ensure that the load is distributed over a larger surface area, effectively reducing high stress at the leaf ends and enhancing durability.
Each spring undergoes a scragging process, which allows it to take a permanent set, minimizing the risk of sagging over time. The graphite coating further reduces friction between the spring leaves and friction pads, contributing to smoother operation. Additionally, the military wrap design enhances safety, while anti-friction pads made from regreasable nylon liners reduce friction at the leaf tips, where the load is most significant.
The flat axle seat area is engineered to provide a secure axle mount, reducing spring stress and extending the lifespan of the spring.
