The ACR Man Overboard Locator SM-3 is a high-intensity LED strobe designed to enhance safety during maritime operations. This compact device provides 360-degree visibility for up to 2 miles, ensuring that crew members in distress can be easily located. The SM-3 automatically activates and begins to strobe when it comes into contact with water, functioning for over 40 hours at 86 degrees Fahrenheit and 24 hours at 30 degrees Fahrenheit. Its durable construction allows it to float upright in all conditions, maintaining visibility when it is most critical.
This locator is equipped with a user-replaceable battery system, operating on 2 AA lithium batteries, which are sold separately. The included polycarbonate bracket ensures secure installation while allowing for easy access in emergencies. The SM-3 is designed to meet USCG, MED, and SOLAS certification standards, making it a reliable choice for commercial marine, petro-marine, and recreational boating applications.
